If you’ve ever lamented that theater needs to do more to attract young audiences, then quit your whining and support this theater company.
The Move-About Theatre is a group of high school students that brings free movable theater to non-traditional venues. Started in 2009 by then-sophomore and now-senior Taylor Edelhart, the company is now presenting its fourth show, a collection of shorts, in Union Square this Friday and Saturday.
Running Shorts is “a complete, eclectic, hour-long theatre experience made up of four one-act plays, each one with a different theatrical theme”:
- Pyramus and Thisbe by Shakespeare
- Speed-The-Play by David Ives
- The Illegal Playwriting Class by John Lazarus
- The Role of Della by John J. Wooten
It’s free, movable, outdoor theater by high school drama folks. How can you NOT want to go to this, given that statistics prove that anyone reading this is 98% certain to be a former high school drama person themselves?
