So. Many. Onions.

Last night, I was representing for all you playwrights out there who’ve ever been involved with Playwrights Foundation.

fire.pngThis Saturday is Crowded Fire’s CHILI COOK OFF fundraiser, where Impact Theatre, Crowded Fire, foolsFURY, and the Playwrights Foundation compete in three categories: Best Traditional Chili, Best Vegetarian Chili, and Best Anything Goes Chili.

I’m helping out the Playwrights Foundation, and last night was our big prep day. Jonathan Spector did the shopping, Amy Mueller supplied the kitchen, and I still smell like onions.

The official judging is being done by local theater critics, but you can vote for audience favorite. It’s this Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at El Rio Bar, 3158 Mission Street, San Francisco. Tickets are $1 each, and for one ticket, you get a chili taster; for five, you get an entire bowl. Or get an all you can eat “gas pass” for $20 in advance and $30 at the door. Purchase tickets at www.crowdedfire.org or at the door.

Music, food, I’m assuming beer: come on out! We’ve done the hard part already. (Ya bastards.) All you gotta do is show up and eat.

  1. I hear Playwrights Foundation took home the trophy. Congrats! Wish I could have been there. At least Impact got fan favorite for the ostrich chili.
