I’ve seen two staged readings that were perfect in every way. One was Peter Nachtrieb‘s HUNTER GATHERERS (when it had a different name) at the Playwrights Foundation. The other was last night at the Magic, as part of the New Voices West workshop series. A fantastic play called BENGAL TIGER AT THE BAGHDAD ZOO by Rajiv Joseph. Unbelievably well-written, perfectly cast, sharply directed. Hell, even the damn stage directions were surprisingly well-read.
