timshot.pngTIM BAUER is a Bay Area playwright and the San Francisco regional representative of the Dramatists Guild of America. His plays have been produced by theaters across the country including Southern Rep, Sleepwalkers Theatre, PlayGround, Orlando Shakespeare Festival, Colonial Playhouse, Stage Werx Theatre, PianoFight, Arclight Rep, Bay One Acts Festival and Austin Script Works, and developed by Just Theater’s New PlayLab, Magic Theatre, Playwrights Foundation, Bay Area Playwright’s Festival, Playwright’s Center SF and the Great Plains Conference.

Tim has received full-length play commissions from Magic Theatre and PlayGround, and he has been a three-time finalist for the Humana Festival’s Heideman Award; a finalist for the Lark Playwright’s Festival, the STAGE International Script Competition and the Aurora Theater Global Age Project; a semifinalist for PlayLabs and the Nicholl Fellowship; a winner of three PlayGround Emerging Playwright Awards; and a winner of the Storer Boone Award for Best Original Play.

His work for the stage includes the full-length plays THE SECRET RULERS OF THE WORLD GO TO CAMP, GYROBALL, EXIT WOUNDS, ZOMBIE TOWN: A DOCUMENTARY PLAY and BEYOND WORDS; the one-act plays HOT SPOT, STARTING OVER, THE MAGIC WORD, THREE LITTLE WORDS and I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS; and the short play DAVID MAMET’S GREEN EGGS AND HAM, a winner of A.C.T.’s David Mamet Writing Contest.

Tim is a member of the Portuguese Artists Colony and an alumnus of the Magic Artists Lab at Magic Theatre and the PlayGround Writers Pool in residence at Berkeley Rep.
