TIM BAUER is a San Francisco playwright. His work for the stage includes the full-length plays Gyroball (Magic Theatre commission), Exit Wounds (Lark Playwright’s Week finalist; PlayLabs semifinalist) and Beyond Words (Aurora Theater Global Age Project finalist); the one-act plays Hot Spot (National 10-Minute Play Contest finalist), Starting Over (National 10-Minute Play Contest finalist), The Magic Word (Sleepwalkers Theatre) and I’ll Be Home For Christmas (Best of PlayGround Festival); and the short play David Mamet’s Green Eggs and Ham (winner of A.C.T.’s David Mamet Writing Contest).

He has received full-length play commissions from Magic Theatre and PlayGround, and he has been a two-time finalist for the Humana Festival’s Heideman Award, a finalist for the Lark Playwright’s Festival, a semifinalist for PlayLabs, a semifinalist for the Nicholl Fellowship, and a winner of two PlayGround Emerging Playwright Awards. 

His plays have been produced by Sleepwalkers Theatre, PlayGround, Orlando Shakespeare Festival, Colonial Playhouse and Austin Script Works, and developed by Just Theater’s New PlayLab, Playwrights Foundation, Bay Area Playwright’s Festival, Playwright’s Center SF and the Great Plains Conference.

Tim is a member of the Magic Artists Lab at Magic Theatre, the PlayGround Writers Pool in residence at Berkeley Rep, and the Dramatists Guild.
