About Tim Bauer

timshot.pngTIM BAUER is a San Francisco playwright. His work for the stage includes the full-length plays Gyroball (Magic Theatre commission), Exit Wounds (PlayLabs semifinalist) and Beyond Words (Aurora Theater Global Age Project finalist); the one-act plays Hot Spot (National 10-Minute Play Contest finalist), The Magic Word (Sleepwalkers Theater) and I’ll Be Home For Christmas (Best of PlayGround Festival); and the short play David Mamet’s Green Eggs and Ham (winner of A.C.T.’s David Mamet Writing Contest).

His plays have been produced by Sleepwalkers Theater, PlayGround, Orlando Shakespeare Festival, Colonial Playhouse and Austin Script Works, and developed by Just Theater’s New PlayLab, Playwrights Foundation, Bay Area Playwright’s Festival, Playwright’s Center SF and Edward Albee’s Great Plains Conference.

He has been a recipient of a Sloan Initiative commission from Magic Theatre, a winner of two PlayGround Emerging Playwright Awards, a finalist for the Actors Theatre of Louisville National 10-Minute Play Contest, a semifinalist for the Nicholl Fellowship and a finalist for the New Yorker’s Cartoon Caption Contest, which is unrelated to playwriting but still pretty cool.
